The protesters demanded the cancellation of the exams and the removal of the Registrar of the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde.
The protesters, who faulted the conduct of the examination, described the exercise as a “big sham.”
The examination, conducted by JAMB, they alleged, was fraught with irregularities.

When and how did you join the Nigerian Army?
Wanda: I started my
military career as a Boy Soldier in the Nigerian Military School in
1974. That was my entrance into the army. After graduating from the
military school, I proceeded to the university where I read medicine.
After graduation, I was then commissioned into the Nigerian Army in 1986
as a Lieutenant medical doctor.

Taking a trip down memory lane, the comic character told Saturday Beats that he is a chip off the old block. He said that he grew up in an Air Force base and fathered by a very funny man.
He likened his father’s house to the popular Fuji House of Commotion.
“Comedy for me started when I was in my
father’s house. My father is a very funny man. I am not one of those
that would say certain things to make my growing up days sound like a
bed of roses. I grew up in the Air Force base and if you know anyone
that grew up there, you can ask of Baba Congo. That is what they call my
father. Just imagine the nickname my father has, Congo, who bears a
name like that if not a funny man? He is a funny man, a clown, and that
is the kind of house I grew up experiencing funny things. My house was
like that Fuji House of Commotion when we had a full house. Because of
my background, I went to the university to study Theatre Art. Even in my
secondary school, I was the head of the drama society and I held the
same position during my NYSC and in my church. In fact, I have been
doing drama for a very long time and I call myself a ‘dramarian’. The
only thing I can’t do is act because I don’t like to stay in a place for
too long, so I decided to stick to comedy. Besides, the money actors
collect is too small; when they increase their money, I will start
acting,” he said.
He told Saturday Beats that he decided to explore his talent after he was doing poorly as a bank worker.
“I didn’t join the comedy business
because I studied Theatre Art in school; I am in my line of business. I
was not doing well as a banker, so I left. Meeting targets has always
been the problem with banking, not calculation; the problem is meeting
up the billons they set for you as target. If you don’t have anybody
that has millions in your family, how do you want to get billions? It’s
easy for people that can say ‘uncle, just lend me two billion, I will
give you next week and he gives you’, they will promote you in the bank
and you collect your money back for your uncle. I didn’t have such an
uncle, so I knew I would not last and before they sacked me, I just
sacked myself,” he said.

President Buhari has approved the sack of the Vice Chancellors of 13
universities established by the administration of former President
Goodluck Jonathan. A statement signed by the Minister of Education,
Adamu Adamu today, said President Buhari has approved the appointment of
new Vice Chancellors for the UniversitiesAccording to the statement, a former Head, Department of International Relations at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof. Kayode Soremekun, who was said to be on Sabbatical in NOUN is the new Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
While the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State has Prof. Auwal Yadudu of the Faculty of Law.
Bayero University, Kano has as its new VC, Prof. Fatima Batoul Muktar of the Department of Biology, North West University, Kano is the VC of Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State.

A 48- year-old mother of three , Mrs. Saidat Bola Hassan, has been arrested
by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the
Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, after she allegedly vomited 15
wraps of cocaine.
Vanguard reports that ,the incident occurred during screening of passengers
on an Egypt Airline flight to Jedda, Saudi Arabia, en-route Cairo.
After she vomited the substances, the woman was apprehended by NDLEA
officials who discovered that she had ingested 80 wraps of cocaine weighing
904 grammes.

A family was devastated after a baby was shot in the face while in her father’s arms and killed
There were about ten gun shots — crack, crack, crack — and then a woman’s scream.
“They shot my baby. They shot my baby.”
A man came running outside, clutching an infant in his arms. Tears slicked his cheeks, a witness told the Los Angeles Times.
The baby girl was named Autumn Johnson, according to NBC Los Angeles, and she later died at the hospital from a gunshot wound to her head. She was just a week past her first birthday.
“It looks like somebody drove up and were shooting into the house at somebody else and the baby caught a stray round,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. John Corina told KTLA of the Tuesday night shooting in Compton, Calif. In a press advisory published early Wednesday, the sheriff’s department said that the shooting appears to be gang related.
