You Want to Know The Fastest Route to Success? Read This
I will like to share the story about a research conducted many years
ago with you. The research was conducted on the graduating students of
Yale University. Out of all the students, only 3 percent had clearly
written goals and how they were going to achieve them.
About 10 percent did not write down their goals but had it in their heads, while the remaining students had no plan at all for their future.
Exactly 25 years later, the researchers went after the students of this graduating class. They discovered that only those who wrote down their goals were successful. They had achieved over 50 to 100 percent of their goals. The students that did not write down their goals were not as successful as those who wrote theirs. The other students that had no clue about their future were not successful at all.
Wow! It is amazing the impact that goal setting can have on one’s life. Do you want to be successful? I am sure you do, So, let me share with you a secret. Goal setting makes success easy.
When you developed this habit, life became easier for you. you begin to see things you did not see before and opportunities , thought that were beyond your reach, started coming your way. This can be your experience too.

How to overcome problems of career choice
How to overcome problems of career choice....
With
an increasing number of successful young people in their 20s and early
30s, there’s so much external pressure to land the perfect job, follow
your passion and be super successful by the end of your 20s. This
becomes especially difficult when you don’t seem to have options beyond
the regular career choices that are made available to you as a teenager.
This is why most people respond with a sigh when asked the question,
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
The solution
to this dilemma faced at the point of career choice can be solved by
first defining what the problems are and then finding ways to tackle
them.
Problem #1: You Don’t Have Enough Information
There
are literally thousands of careers out there—some of which could be at
the perfect junction of what you’re good at, what you love and what’s in
demand. It’s amazing how many successful people didn’t know their dream
job even existed when they were younger. To combat this problem, try
this: devote one hour every day for a week or even a month! on pure
research. Check out career exploration sites, top job lists, your
favorite blogs or even a new section of the newspaper. Your mission?
Write down any and every job that catches your eye. This minimal routine
will skyrocket your list of career ideas.
Problem #2: You Don’t Know What You Want
There
are many great jobs in the world. But there are fewer great jobs that
are right for you. Making a good connection between yourself (your
values, interests, personality, etc.) and a career can be tough. For
some people, personality tests or heart-to-hearts with a career
counselor can jumpstart this stage. But if you’re short on time, money
or patience (some of those career tests are worse than the eHarmony
intake form), assess career ideas with this practical checklist:
A. Does this career sound interesting?
As
author Cal Newport has so eloquently advocated, you don’t have to be
passionately head-over-heals for a career in order to thrive. However, a
career should genuinely interest you on a gut level. It’s a good sign
if you hear about a job and think, “Yeah, tell me more about that!”
B. Does this career involve work that you could be good at?
Many
skills can be learned if you commit the time, but pursuing a career
that actively goes against your natural tendencies is a giant fail
waiting to happen. If you’re an introverted research type, don’t force
yourself into a sales job—no matter how cool it sounds. Likewise,
big-picture people will not find happiness in a tiny-details job. If the
work itself clashes with your personality or skill set, move on.
C. Does this career fulfill your essential needs?
What
you need from a career can include everything from basic salary and
education requirements to more complicated concerns related to
disability, family situation, religious beliefs and beyond. Once you’ve
nailed down what you want from your job, you can match those needs to
career options. For example, if a six-figure income tops your priority
list, choose a field where you can feasibly make that kind of money
(think science, healthcare, technology, business) and avoid lottery
industries (like film-making and fashion design) where only a lucky few
will strike it rich.
D. Does the world need this career?
Practically
speaking, you need a job. So before diving down a new career path, see
if there’s a reasonably good chance someone will hire you at the end of
it. Check out employment projections or industry chatter to gauge if
your career is in demand.
Problem #3: You Can’t Make a Decision
You’re
99.99 percent guaranteed to find multiple career choices where you can
shine. In this situation, it’s easy to fall into a perpetual motion
machine of angst and second-guessing. What if you don’t pick the right
career? But here’s the secret: don’t worry about choosing the best
option; choose any (well- researched and practical) option. “Just pick
one thing to do,” suggest Brazen founder
Penelope Trunk. “And if that doesn’t work, then pick another. Making a choice and trying it is an important career skill.”
So be brave and take action—and you’ll be that much closer to finding a job you love.

Black Friday: Jumia slashes prices of goods by 50 per cent
Black Friday: Jumia slashes prices of goods by 50 per cent
Lagos – Jumia Nigeria online store says it will give a 50 per cent discount on some of its products to mark Black Friday on Nov. 27.This is contained in a statement in Lagos on Wednesday, signed by the Managing Director of the online mall, Mr Fatoumata Ba.
The term, ‘Black Friday’, was coined in the 1960s to mark the unofficial kickoff to Christmas shopping season in the U.S.
Black Friday is not an official holiday in the U.S. but shops and shoppers use the opportunity to buy goods at reduced rates.
The Jumia online Store listed some of the products to be discounted to include Infinix Hot 2 and PS4 by almost half of their original costs.
The store said it would open for sales at midnight on Nov. 27.
“The Infinix Hot 2 will be selling at 50 per cent discount and the PS4 will be available at a jaw-dropping 45 per cent discount.
“Jumia Fashionistas, Michael kors, New Look, Ralph Lauren and more have offered to give 40 per cent discounts on their products,’’ it said.
The statement said the deals could also be viewed on the Facebook Event Page, all day on Nov. 27.
It said that buyers could leverage this to stay connected to everything as it happens, as they would be the only source of information to Black Friday shoppers.
“We sincerely offer our deepest condolences to those who would be missing out on this epic Black Friday Deals.
“To our brothers and sisters in the e-commerce sector all working on Black Friday, while everyone is shopping their heart’s fill, we offer a moment of silence.
“For the shoppers that will get all the best deals on Black Friday, we doff our hats,’’ the statement added.

Germany increases scholarships to Nigerians, others
The new Consul-General of the Consulate-General of Germany in Lagos, Mr Ingo Herbert, on Tuesday announced his government’s decision to increase scholarships for Nigerians and other Africans. Herbert told newsmen in Lagos that his government had at its recent bilateral meeting decided to increase its annual scholarships from 450 to “a more reasonable number”.“Before now about 450 Nigerians benefit every year from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). “But from our recent bilateral meeting, the German government has decided to increase its annual scholarships to Nigeria and other countries from 450 to a much more reasonable number,’’ he said.
Herbert said that the initiative was part of the German’s human development agenda aimed at giving more Africans opportunities to go and study in different German educational institutions. The envoy also said that it had become imperative to increase the scholarships following the growing interest of Nigerians and other African in studying in Germany.
“We have realised that after the U.S. and U.K., most Nigerians and other foreign students like coming to study in Germany,’’ he said. The consul-general said that German universities and colleges had started courses in English Language so as to be able to accommodate more Nigerians.
He restated his government’s commitment to encouraging and creating the right learning environment for the would be beneficiaries of the scholarships. Herbert also expressed satisfaction with the successes currently being made by some Nigerians that had benefited from the scholarships in the past in their professions.

NAFDAC EMBARKS ON A NATIONWIDE STRIKE
Activities were brought to a halt in all NAFDAC offices nationwide due to the ongoing 7 days warning strike declared by the Federal Area Council (FAC) of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), which is saddled with the responsibility of protecting the interests of its staff members.
RELATIONSHIP..........YOU CAN'T HURRY LOVE.
There are certain pieces of wisdom that we learn from our parents at an early age which stays with us for a lifetime. They are a comfort, a warning, or an incentive to us in times of crisis or disappointment.Perhaps your mother or father told you that you "can't hurry love". This one insight is so important that it can literally save your life, and certainly keep you from a great deal of unnecessary pain.
Every one of us want to love and be loved in the deepest, most complete way.As we reach adolescence and young adulthood we assume that it will just happen. As the years pass, it doesn't or we think it has and then, after a while, the relationship falls apart and we are left alone again. This can lead to desperation and a series of bad choices or to depressing kind of loneliness that seems to lead to nowhere.
You may have a different love clock than your partner. You may want to move more quickly in revealing yourself, in trust, or in sexual intimacy, living together, and marriage. It is more important to know just what your love clock is and why it works at that speed and to understand the workings of your lover's. Part of the difference has to do with overall personality but another important factor revolves around issues of self-esteem and neediness. You hope that your lover is ready to move onto the next level of the relationship when you are. Not too likely! So go back to that reassuring wise admonition,"you can't hurry love," and reflect on what it means for your relationship..to be continued....

Diezani Alison-Madueke chants from her hospital bed "I DID MY JOB TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITIES AND INTENTIONS"
Diezani
Alison-Madueke receiving treatment for cancer. What are your thoughts.
Should she still go to prison if found guilty of bribery, corruption and
money laundering. Or is she already facing Gods ultimate punishment.
Maybe she is innocent as she claims. Or is this a publicity stunt to
secure the sympathetic vote

Military Warns Pro-Biafra Protesters
Military Warns Pro-Biafra Protesters http://bit.ly/1SLMome The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, on

south-east and parts of the south-south to form an independent nation of
Biafra; an indication that the Nigerian military appears to be losing
its cool with young pro-Biafra agitators.
